How To Prepare For Ear Wax Removal Appointment

Ear Wax Removal
Using Olive Oil Drops

It is important to soften ear wax before your appointment as it helps with the grip of the micro-suction making it easier and a more comfortable procedure.

In particular, we recommend 'Earol ' spray as it comes with a very useful applicator.

Leave for a few minutes and then wipe away any excess residue.

Repeat drops 1-2 times daily over a period of 4-5 days (ideally leading up to your appointment).

When Wax Is Stubborn

Very rarely, ear wax does not respond to olive oil and is too hard/ stubborn to be removed.

In the above scenario, we will either ask you to use olive oil drops for a further week or Sodium Bicarbonate drops.

Sometimes we may recommend Hydrogen Peroxide drops (Otex Express) however this should not be used for longer then 3-4 days.
