Frequently Asked Questions
What is ear wax removal and why do I need it?
Ear wax protects your ears, but too much can block them and cause hearing loss or discomfort. Removal clears the blockage and helps you hear clearly again.
What is microsuction?
Microsuction is a safe, dry method that uses gentle suction to remove ear wax. It’s quick, clean, and doesn’t use water.
Is it painful?
No. Most people find it comfortable. You might hear a light suction sound or feel a tickle. Otex Earol can be used to soften wax before appointment to increase comfort during procedure.
How long does it take?
Usually about 20–30 minutes for both ears.
Do you come to my home?
Yes. We offer mobile appointments and can visit your home, workplace, or care setting.
Who can have it done?
Everyone above the age of 18.
What if all the wax isn’t removed.
If the wax is too hard, we may ask you to use drops for a few more days and rebook a short follow-up.
What should I do after treatment?
Keep your ears dry for 24 hours and don’t use cotton buds. We’ll give you simple aftercare advice.
What if I wear hearing aids?
You may build up wax faster. Regular cleaning helps your hearing aids work better.
